    If you have been diagnosed with an illness you might look to claim on your Critical Illness policy. Critical Illness is designed to pay-out if you have been diagnosed with a listed condition. They may ask your GP for information relating to your smoking status or alcohol usage. Generally, insurance companies shouldn’t do this.

  • This can depend on how fast your medical professionals respond to the insurance companies and how quickly the insurance providers assess the information. We have heard of companies taking over 30 working days (6 weeks) to assess information. Generally speaking, a well-prepared claim will take around 8-10 weeks.
